Watching the sun soar
Lower in the clear blue sky,
I am filled with joy,
It is finally Autumn!
Then trepidation sinks in…
Watching the sun soar
Lower in the clear blue sky,
I am filled with joy,
It is finally Autumn!
Then trepidation sinks in…
I arose today
Before a sweetened sunrise
And I rode the clouds
To the Pacific Ocean
Making faces at The Moon
Sunrise melodies,
Awaken cool ocean air,
Kissed by Easter’s gifts.
Would it be foolish of me,
To name this day, Perfect Spring?
And so we arise
Every morning from the East
Like the Winter Sun.
Quietly, we travel West,
To witness a Champion!
“One more wink!” I say,
In between a yawn or two,
“That is all I need…”
A familiar bargain,
But the sunrise can’t be bought.
Can you imagine?
Longer days in the sunlight
Tall golden grasses
Humbled by a cloudless sky
A paradise lost to drought
No matter my cries
I have no sway with the sun.
Like an autumn leaf
I toss and turn with the wind
And fall awake with sunrise.
