Sleep is all I crave
May it take the whole of me
Quickly with no fuss.
And so I wait “patiently”
Eyes wide at a blank ceiling.

*jumps promptly into her bed*
“One more wink!” I say,
In between a yawn or two,
“That is all I need…”
A familiar bargain,
